If you bring your own lunch..

Q:

If I don't buy anything at the cafeteria and just eat the lunch I brought with me, can I still use the cafeteria?

A:

In the dining hall, priority is generally given to those using the dining hall menu. In particular, during the busiest hours between 12 and 1pm, even those who have purchased a dining hall menu are asked to share the space, so we ask that those who only bring their own food or are not eating in refrain from using the space. If you would like, we would be grateful if you could purchase at least one dish in the dining hall. (The cheapest menu item is miso soup (priced at 44 yen)

Additionally, from mid-May, the hall on the second floor of the cafeteria will be open to the public from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on weekdays after the cafeteria closes. Please feel free to use this area for eating and drinking, studying, chatting, etc

Can base money also be used to pay for the central cafeteria?

Q:

Can I use base money (not just cafeteria money) to pay at the central cafeteria?

A:

You can also use "Base Money" in the cafeteria. However, if you use "School Money," you will receive points based on the amount you spend. (1 point is added to Base Money for every 200 yen spent.) We recommend paying with "School Money" to receive the points you earn

Cheese potato mochi is so delicious..

Q:

Cheese potato mochi is so delicious. It would be so sad if we could no longer enjoy the exquisite harmony of cheese, potato, and mochi. I would appreciate it if you could add it to the lineup rather than making it a limited-time item

A:

Thank you for enjoying our "Recommended Menu Fair" that began last week. These items are available for a limited time of two weeks and include menu items made with ingredients procured by our buyers, such as our "Cheese Potato Mochi." While it will be difficult to immediately add this to our regular lineup, we will share this request when we review the fair

The signal is poor at the place where the charging station is located..

Q:

The reception is poor at the location where the machines for topping up cafeteria money and base money are located, so I am unable to top up. I would like them to move it to a location with better reception

A:

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the poor reception at the Central Cafeteria. We will consider selecting a new location internally. While it is difficult to improve the situation immediately, you can also charge your cafeteria money with a credit card. We hope you will also use this option

There was only one piece of broccoli in the stir-fried pork and vegetables with salt..

Q:

The stir-fried pork and vegetables with salt only had one piece of broccoli in it

A:

We have reviewed your feedback and immediately had the staff in the relevant section check the presentation schedule and have reconfigured the operations so that the food is presented in the same way as the menu board

The self-service bar is delicious, but..

Q:

The self-service bar is delicious, but if you order a moderate amount of eggplant and potato salad, the price will be nearly 300 yen, far exceeding the price of the fish. I wonder if the weight of the plate is included? It's a little too expensive, so I can't buy it often

A:

Regarding the operation of the self-service bar: ・The weight of the plate is subtracted when measuring. It is not converted into a price. ・The unit price per gram is the same for all UTokyo Co-op restaurants.
Potato salad and eggplant are relatively heavy dishes, so if you would like, you can combine them with lighter ingredients such as shredded cabbage to enjoy the self-service bar at a reasonable price while still being filling.

Rakuten Pay and Rakuten Edy..

I would also like to be able to top up base money and cafeteria money with QR payments.

A:

any payment methods other than those currently available,
including Rakuten Pay and Rakuten Edy.

Additionally, base money
can only be topped up with credit cards or cash at convenience store registers.
There are no plans to introduce any other topping up methods.

I wish they could make their own curry roux..

Q:

I wish they would make their own curry roux. It has a strong retort feel and isn't worth the price

A:

Currently, we use curry roux exclusively for the University Co-op (made in bulk at a factory and delivered to each store). If we were to make it ourselves, the selling price would be higher due to labor costs, gas costs, and other expenses, and we would not be able to serve as many servings, so we have decided to keep it as it is

We will pass on your comment that it "has a strong retort-like taste" to the person in charge of the university co-op menu

The entrance ceremony manju was sold out..

Q:

The manju commemorating the entrance ceremony of the University of Tokyo has run out of stock, but could you please tell me when the next shipment will arrive? Thank you in advance

A:

Currently, university manju are produced and sold for a limited time only to coincide with school events such as school festivals, when many customers visit

The amount of rice is large..

Q:

The rice bowls and curries have a lot of rice. I
've only ever ordered a small portion, so I don't know about the other portions, but even the small portion is a lot.
I wish it was a little less. I wish the price was cheaper too. I wish they'd make an extra small portion.

A:

The current rice serving sizes at the Co-op Cafeteria are as follows:
Rice alone/set meals: small 130g, medium 200g, large 270g Rice bowls/curry: small 180g, medium 250g, large 320g We will once again check that the above amounts are being strictly adhered to.

Also, if you have a small size and it's too much, please ask the staff to serve you a smaller portion. We will consider the extra small size if we receive many similar comments. Thank you for your understanding
