Pay for JR train tickets with the Co-op's base money..
Q:
It would be great if you could make it possible to pay for JR tickets at the Travel Centers (Komaba and Hongo) using the Co-op's base money
A:
Currently, cashless payments for products handled at the Travel Center are limited to credit cards.
This is because refunds due to cancellations are commonplace for Travel Center products.
When a refund occurs, the payment is made using the same settlement method as the payment method.
Therefore, if a payment made using base currency is canceled, the payment must be returned to base currency. However, this would be
difficult to handle from a system perspective, such as settling the difference after deducting cancellation and refund fees, and would be cumbersome from an operational standpoint for the store.
Another problem is that JR tickets can be refunded at the Midori ticket counters in town as vouchers.
(We allow credit card ticket refunds because a system has been established that limits refunds for tickets paid for by credit card to the store of purchase.)
We will consider accepting this option if we observe future trends in usage and if there are any developments that simplify system operations.
