I haven't received an order confirmation email?

Please try the following methods in order

Solution 1.
Please check if the email has been filtered into your spam folder or similar.
If so, please adjust your spam filter settings to allow emails from @mail.utcoop.or.jp to be received in order to receive future emails.

Solution 2.
If the problem persists, please log in and open MY Page. If your order was successful, your "Order History" will be displayed. Clicking "Details" will allow you to view the email we sent you.
If it is not displayed in your "Order History," your order was not successful.

Are all the textbooks used in classes sold at the Co-op?

We strive to sell everything that the co-op is aware of.
However, there are some items that we are unaware of for the reasons explained below.

Why are some textbooks that are listed on the syllabus or assigned in class not listed on the textbook website?

There are several possible reasons:

  • It wasn't listed in the syllabus the co-op obtained.
→ The co-op uses syllabus information from early March, but it may be updated later.
  • I haven't received a call from the teacher.
→ We do send out a message asking students to contact us if they plan to use the textbook, but we don't have a perfect grasp of the situation.
  • These are not books or commercially available products.
→ Some materials, such as handouts, may not be included.

The textbook I want to buy is out of stock. Will it be in stock?

We will update the product information as soon as we have an estimated restock date, so please check the textbook website.
We will also indicate if there is no prospect of restocking due to reasons such as the publisher being out of stock.

First of all, why do items run out of stock?
Surely the number of students taking the class is known in advance?

For required courses, it's relatively easy to estimate the number of students enrolled, but for elective courses, it's much more difficult.
(The final number of enrolled students won't be available until late April.)

Why are some books out of stock or out of print even though they are designated textbooks?

There are certain conditions for reprinting books (reprinting and distributing books that are out of print), and if these conditions are not met, the books will not be reprinted.
The co-op contacts the publisher with information such as "Professor XX would like to use this as a textbook," and after receiving a response, informs the publisher that the book is out of print.
There may be alternative arrangements such as providing handouts or recommending alternative books, so please check during the first class.
The co-op will also contact the professor in charge as much as possible.
If you absolutely need to obtain a physical copy, we ask that you please search for it yourself at the library or in used bookstores.

About receiving textbooks [Komaba]

What are the advantages and disadvantages of in-store pickup and delivery?

In-store pickup

Merits:
when you have business at the university.
packages without any fees
There are more payment options than home delivery, and

Disadvantages:
You'll need to adjust your visit schedule,
and you'll have to take it home no matter how heavy it is.

Delivery

Benefits:
You can receive heavy books at home without having to carry them around, and
you don't need to apply for entry or visit the store.

Disadvantage
1: A handling fee of 990 yen (tax included) is charged per order.
If you place multiple orders, the handling fee will be charged each time.

How long will it take to receive it?

For in-store pickup, we aim to send a confirmation email within 2 business days of your order. For home delivery, we aim to ship within 2 business days of confirming your payment.
However, if there is a large volume of orders, it may take an additional 1-2 business days.
(Business days are weekdays only, excluding peak seasons.)

Will I be able to pick it up in time for the start of classes?

As mentioned above, please allow approximately 3-4 business days from the time of order for delivery.
Please note that not all subjects require textbooks from the first class. Some courses
may not use textbooks during the initial orientation, so a fair number of students choose to wait and see how things go for non-required subjects.

Can I specify the delivery date and time?

We apologize, but we cannot accept requests for specific delivery dates at the time of order.
This is because an increase in the number of requests would delay shipping and ultimately inconvenience many customers.
Once your order has been shipped, we will inform you of the tracking number, so please request redelivery if you are unable to receive it at that time.

Are there no textbooks in stock at the bookstore?

We will not be stocking the books on the first floor until April 26th

What to do after receiving your textbooks [Komaba]

Can I return or exchange a textbook once I have paid for it?

We will accept your request in the following cases.
Please reply to the order confirmation email from the textbook website orthe inquiry formcontact us through
It would be helpful if you could include the reason as soon as possible once you know it.

1) If a defect that originally existed in the product is found (printing defects, binding defects, etc.)

2) If there is any damage that appears to have occurred during delivery

3) If the details and the actual item are different (different product, different quantity)

4) If you are unable to take the course due to the number of students enrolled or the lottery results

5) If a product different from the syllabus is listed on the textbook website

6) If you accidentally order multiple items of the same product (in this case, you will be responsible for the return shipping fees, etc.)

It is listed as a textbook on the syllabus, but when I actually attend class the teacher says "we won't be using the textbook"?

There have been cases in the past such as the following:

1. Please check for any misunderstandings
, such as misinterpreting the categories of textbooks and reference books.

2. In the 2020 academic year, when the syllabus was changed after the start of classes
, some designated textbooks were changed to reference books.
The co-op may not be able to keep track of such changes in real time.
, and we will contact the teacher in charge to confirm the factsthe inquiry form.
