 The University of Tokyo Consumers' Cooperative Association (hereinafter referred to as "Party A") and the University of Tokyo Press (hereinafter referred to as "Party B") conclude an agreement as follows.

 Shortly after the war, Party B was born on the basis of Party A's predecessor, the University of Tokyo Cooperative Publishing Department, and Party A and Party B have shared that history. Today, on the 70th anniversary of its founding, the situation in the world is undergoing major changes, and there is a pressing need to review the nature of the book business and publishing business within the university. In this situation, further strengthening of cooperation between A and B is significant not only from the perspective of business entities, but also from the perspective of promoting a culture in which the people who make up the knowledge community of the university learn, ask questions, and talk together. Be expected.
 It is precisely because of the many histories of both parties, such as dealing with the medium of books, disseminating academic information, and peace activities symbolized by the publication of "Kike Wadatsumi no Koe", that this agreement serves as a starting point for further cooperation. I am convinced that we can further utilize, share, and sublimate each of our strengths.

(Purpose)
Article 1 The purpose of this agreement is to aim for the following items under comprehensive cooperation between Party A and Party B.

  • Deepen ties among members of the University of Tokyo through the book publishing and sales business.
  • In order to enrich the life of learning, promote a culture of learning, asking questions, and talking.
  • Cooperate with each other and contribute to the development of the university community.

(Cooperation Matters)
Article 2 Party A and Party B will collaborate and cooperate with each other on the following matters.

  • Matters related to exchanges among members of the University of Tokyo through books.
  • Matters concerning the development of human resources that contribute to the promotion of the book sales and publishing business at the University of Tokyo and the development of the book business.
  • Matters related to projects on the theme of social conditions for students to complete their studies, including peace.
  • Matters concerning the smooth supply of textbooks and teaching materials that support the academic knowledge of the University of Tokyo.
  • Matters concerning the progressive utilization of digital content.

(Cooperation Matters)
Article 3 Details of specific activities, business plans, division of roles, cost sharing, etc. shall be discussed and decided between the departments in charge of both parties on a case-by-case basis.

(Confidentiality)
Article 4 Party A and Party B shall use information obtained in carrying out activities based on this Agreement, except for information that is already publicly known, only for the cooperation items specified in Article 2. Such information shall not be disclosed or provided to a third party without the consent of the other party, and the same shall apply even after the termination of this Agreement.

(date of expiry)
Article 5 The term of validity of this agreement shall be one year from the date of conclusion. However, if there is no written declaration of intent from either Party A or Party B three months before the expiration of the period, it shall be renewed for another year with the same content, and the same shall apply thereafter.

Party A and Party B shall mutually confirm that they have fully understood the contents of this document, and sign their names and seals as follows in order to certify that it has been established. Two copies of this agreement will be prepared, and Party A and Party B will keep one copy each.

Comprehensive collaboration agreement

 The University of Tokyo Consumer Cooperative Association (hereinafter referred to as "Part 1") and the University of Tokyo Collaborative Research Organization Humanities Center (hereinafter referred to as "Part 2") conclude the following agreement.

Since its establishment, Party A has contributed to the spread of book culture at the University of Tokyo through sales and other businesses in the Book Department. Party B has disseminated the results of academic collaboration activities in the humanities through books such as academic research books and booklets, and has also gained various knowledge about the history and possibilities of book culture through individual research projects such as research on the history of publishing culture. . By comprehensively coordinating their respective activities, Party A will be able to utilize Party B's knowledge to further promote book culture dissemination activities, and Party B will be able to spread the results of academic collaboration activities more widely through Party A. It can be returned. Therefore, we hereby conclude an agreement.

(Purpose)
Article 1 The purpose of this agreement is to aim for the following items under comprehensive cooperation between Party A and Party B.

  • Through projects to provide and disseminate academic information on book culture, we aim to deepen the understanding of book culture among the various organizations and members of the University of Tokyo, and to promote it.
  • Through Party A's dissemination projects and Party B's academic projects, we aim to deepen and promote book culture.
  • Contribute to the development of the university community as an academic place.

(Cooperation Matters)
Article 2 Party A and Party B will collaborate and cooperate with each other on the following matters.

  • Matters regarding exchange and collaboration between various organizations and members of the University of Tokyo through books.
  • Matters related to information sharing of academic books that expand interest in research activities.
  • Matters related to the utilization of book information obtained through collaboration.

(Agenda matters)
