Handling of JR tickets [Midori no Madoguchi]

Hongo Travel Center is a "Midori no Madoguchi"

You can buy JR tickets (train tickets, Shinkansen tickets, etc.) on campus without going to the station!

Note: Some tickets cannot be handled, such as tickets purchased through Ekinet reservations.

Those using public funds can apply by FAX/E-mail!

    ★If you send an email, please include the number of passengers, date, train name, section, type of equipment, seat preference, etc.

Discount Information on JR Tickets

  • student discount certificate
    Students can get a 20% discount on fares (tickets) if they use the "Student Discount Certificate"!
    ★Student Discount Certificates are issued at the administrative office of your faculty/graduate school.

  • Round trip long distances!
    If the distance is more than 601 kilometers, buy a round-trip ticket if the itinerary is the same!
    Approximately 10% discount for each one-way trip. A total of about 30% discount when combined with the student discount!
    ★The period of validity of the ticket varies depending on the distance. Please be careful.

  • Plan ticket
    You can purchase Seishun 18 Kippu, Excursion Kippu, Shinkansen and limited express coupons, and special JR East tickets!

JR group ticket

If you use JR with 8 students + 1 leader, a group ticket is advantageous!

8 students + 1 leader (faculty and staff) are doing the same activity and the fare (ticket part) is half price!
The discount rate is 30% off.

How to apply

  • Fill in the necessary information on the "Group Travel Application Form" available at the Travel Center.
  • Please apply to receive the official seal of the university on the application form at the office in charge of the university.
    (Approximate: 3 weeks before departure)
    Depending on the affiliation of the group member, the contact point will be the contact point of each faculty/graduate school or the Student Support Division of the headquarters.

  • Receive the “group tour application form” stamped with the official seal of the university and submit it to the travel center
    (From 9 months to 14 days before departure).
  • After submission, you will receive a response to your application within 3 to 4 days.
  • 14 days before departure, the number of people is confirmed and tickets are issued.
  • Tickets will arrive in about 3 to 4 days after ticketing. We will pay for it after we receive it.
