Regarding return of investment

For those leaving the University of Tokyo (graduation, withdrawal, retirement, etc.)

Thank you very much for using the University of Tokyo Co-op
If you are leaving the University of Tokyo due to graduation or retirement and have no plans to use the University of Tokyo Co-op in the future, we will refund any investments you have made up to now

Those who are scheduled to graduate in March will receive information regarding withdrawal procedures in mid-December
Please check the instructions and then proceed with the procedure

If you continue to stay at the University of Tokyo

If you continue to be enrolled (for example, if you are going on to graduate school at the University of Tokyo, if your planned graduation year changes, or if you are becoming a faculty member), we will not process a return of your investmentPlease follow the steps below to change your membership information
If you have changed your address, please update your registration below

Membership cards will not be rewritten or reissued. Please complete the transfer procedure to an electronic membership card on the University Co-op app
If you would like to be issued a paper membership card due to device issues, please request this in the form

In the case of voluntary withdrawal under Article 11 of the Articles of Incorporation

If the application is submitted by the end of November each year, the refund will be made after the end of February of the following year
Please note that if you apply after December, the refund will be made at the end of February of the following year
Please note that the University of Tokyo Co-op may contact dependents for confirmation

Please pay by either "at the counter" or "by mail or bank transfer"

If you come in person

  • Please bring your membership card and personal seal to the counter below
    *If you have lost your membership card, please bring identification such as a student ID or staff ID
  • Please fill out a withdrawal form at the counter
  • Your investment will be returned in cash

*Membership cards will be collected on the spot
We can issue a temporary membership card with a limited time period, so please ask if you need one

If a representative is coming

  • In addition to your membership card and seal, you will need the following:bothIt is necessary
    ① A handwritten letter of attorney from the member who will be withdrawing

    Please fill out the following items by hand. There are no set formats

    • Date of delegation
    • Name, address, date of birth, and phone number of the person entrusting the power
    • Name, address, date of birth, and telephone number of the agent (representative)
    • Delegation details (please indicate that you are delegating the return of your investment)
    • Seal: personal seal (Shachihata seals are not accepted)
    ②Document that can prove the representative's identity (student ID, staff ID, etc.)
  • Please fill out a withdrawal form at the counter
  • Your investment will be returned in cash

Mail/Bank transfer

1. Please send the following documents by mail to the address below

  • Union membership card
  • Withdrawal Application Form
    If your last name has changed, please also enter your previous last name
    Please also fill in your account information. The account must be in your name or the name of a family member
    Please enter a financial institution in Japan

*If you have withdrawn from school, please enclose a copy of a document that can prove your withdrawal, such as a certificate of withdrawal
If no certificate is attached, refunds will be made at the end of the year in which you are scheduled to graduate, or as a voluntary withdrawal

2. After confirmation by the Co-op, your investment will be returned by bank transfer
