Information on purchasing products using public funds (operating expenses, research grants, etc.)

The University of Tokyo Co-op accepts the purchase of goods and services using public funds (operating expenses, research grants such as KAKENHI).
When purchasing with public funds, users are not required to make upfront payments, and purchases can be made using accounts receivable slips (quotes, delivery slips, and invoices).

If you are using public funds (science grants, operating expenses, etc.) for the first time, you will need to register your user data with the University of Tokyo Co-op in advance (first time only). Please apply using the form below

Once you have completed your registration, you will be able to purchase items using public funds at all University of Tokyo Co-op stores

Process for purchasing with public funds at the Co-op

  1. First time only: Register for public funds using the [Public Funds Registration Form] or at the store
  2. Consult or request to each store (in-store/email/phone/University Co-op EC site)
  3. Pick up or arrange for delivery of products in store
  4. Delivery of products (issuance of invoices)
  5. Accounting settlement procedures for invoices at your workplace

• When purchasing with public funds, please inform the co-op staff of the "registered phone number" and "user name" you provided when registering for public fund use.
• When receiving your goods, we will record the recipient's name.
• We will verify your identification document issued by your affiliated institution, such as a faculty/staff ID or student ID, at the store. *If you do not have an identification document issued by your affiliated institution, please consult with the store you are using.

How to receive your product

You can receive your items using the following methods:
• In-store pickup
• On-campus delivery by Co-op staff
• Delivery by courier service (delivery conditions and additional shipping charges apply)
*If you wish to have your items delivered on campus, please also provide the delivery location (building, room number, laboratory name) and your preferred time slot for delivery (morning/afternoon).
*For delivery by courier service, a shipping fee of 1,100 yen (tax included) will be added per package.
However, for deliveries to facilities at the University of Tokyo, shipping is free for orders totaling 25,000 yen (tax included) or more.

At the cooperative, you can purchase the following goods and services using public funds:
• Information equipment (PCs, peripherals, software)
• Office supplies (stationery, miscellaneous goods, furniture, home appliances, etc.)
• Business cards, bookbinding, printing, translation and proofreading
• Beverages, snacks, food
• Books
*The above is just an example.
*We also handle many items that are not in stock at the store or listed on the website.

*For orders placed through our e-commerce site, direct delivery to a specified address is not available. If you wish to have your order delivered to a specified address, please select "Store Pickup" when placing your order and contact the store to request delivery.
