Komaba/KomabaⅡ
Komaba West Shop, an unmanned store open 24 hours a day, will open on September 30th!
Opening ceremony (September 30th)
The Komaba Nishi Shop opens on the 1st floor of Buildings 15 and 16 on the Komaba Campus with a congratulatory speech from Dean Fumitaka Mafune of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and a ribbon cutting by Tatsuhiko Tsukiyaku, vice president of the University of Tokyo Co-op, and Dean Mafune. Thank you.
The West Shop is the University of Tokyo Co-op's first unmanned store open 24 hours a day, and has recently begun operations, including as an operational experiment.
Komaba Nishi Shop was opened as a replacement facility after the closure of the bread shop became unavoidable due to seismic retrofitting work at Building No. 1. Until now, there were no welfare facilities on the west side of campus, and there was a need for a facility that could provide food in the evenings and nights, especially in an area where natural science laboratories were concentrated. Since operating a store with staff is difficult, we will try to operate an unmanned store.
Payment for the Komaba Nishi Shop can only be made with co-op electronic money. We would like to see the store grow into a store that can be used 24 hours a day using co-op money, rather than one where only co-op money can be used.
