Benefits of joining the Co-op

Those joining the University Co-op for the first time

  • Please join the University of Tokyo Co-op (the University of Tokyo Co-op requests 60 memberships for 24,000 yen).
  • Join here
  • To apply for CO-OP Student Comprehensive Mutual Aid, Student Liability Insurance, or Student Life Hotline, please visit the campus office.

Those who are members of a university co-op other than the University of Tokyo

  • Please carry out the following at the university co-op you were previously a member of.
    • Withdrawal (return of capital contribution) procedures
    • Processing of Co-op money, etc.

    *Please check the information provided by your current co-op before proceeding.

  • Please join the University of Tokyo Co-op again (we ask for 24,000 yen for 60 memberships).

Those who will be transferring to the University of Tokyo (those who have already joined the Co-op)

  • Please do not go through the co-op's capital contribution return procedure, but instead complete the procedure to change your membership information.
