Joining and increasing your co-op capital online

  • First, we ask you to register to use the website (subscription only)
  • You can choose to pay by bank transfer (Pay-easy), convenience store payment, credit card payment, or counter payment
    I would like 24,000 yen (60 shares)
  • After payment, we will send you instructions on how to register for the Co-op app to your registered email address within 1-3 business days. Please set up the app after receiving the email
    *Even if you set up the app before receiving the email, an error will occur
  • Please use your "temporary membership card" until the app setup is complete
    *If you click on the "Confirm application details" URL in the payment confirmation email and register, you will be able to present your "provisional membership card."

Procedures for joining the University of Tokyo Co-op and increasing capital

The University of Tokyo Consumers' Co-op is an organization that allows students, graduate students, international students, faculty and staff who study and work at the University of Tokyo to become members, enabling them to live convenient and fulfilling lives. We support your studies and life at the university through business activities at each store on each campus, such as cafeterias, shopping, books, travel and study support. Please join the co-op and make use of its services
We also ask for your cooperation in increasing capital contributions to stabilize the University of Tokyo Co-op's management and provide adequate services

*The investment you have deposited will be returned when you leave the University of Tokyo due to graduation, transfer, retirement, etc

*By presenting your membership card, you can enjoy the member price at the Co-op cafeteria (30% off the regular price).
 Books are available at a 10% discount off the retail price
 In addition, you can take advantage of events and sales exclusive to members

Those who are eligible to join the University of Tokyo Co-op

  • Students, graduate students, faculty and staff of the University of Tokyo
  • Those who work at a business or other establishment located on the University of Tokyo campus
  • Those who live in Tokyo or Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture

Joining/increasing capital over the counter (cash)

*Due to the high volume of traffic during the new semester period (March to April), we ask that you apply online

If you join

  • Please bring your investment and ID (student ID, staff ID) to the nearest counter
    We ask for a capital investment of 24,000 yen (60 shares)
  • Please fill out the membership application form
  • You will be given a "temporary membership card." After completing your membership registration, we will send you information regarding the app membership card

In the case of capital increase

  • Please bring your capital increase and membership card to your nearest office
    • If you have less than 24,000 yen (60 shares), we ask that you cooperate in increasing your capital up to 24,000 yen. Please refer to the back of your membership card to see your investment amount
    • We ask for your cooperation in increasing capital in units of 10 shares (4,000 yen per 10 shares)
  • Please fill out the capital increase application form
  • Your membership card will be updated
