We would like to sincerely apologize to all of our members who use our cafeteria every day for the concern caused by the article in the evening edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun on August 25th
Regarding this matter, the University Co-op Business Association (hereinafter referred to as the Business Association), which the University of Tokyo Co-op entrusts with purchasing food ingredients from manufacturers, has submitted the attached report ("See "Report on Newspaper Coverage"We would like to inform all our members as soon as possible
Even if there is no food safety issue in the Business Association, which is obligated to display expiration dates, resetting them after confirming and recording safety, the University of Tokyo Co-op takes seriously the fact that the information disclosure standards for its members, who are consumers, were not sufficiently clear, and we strongly urge the Business Association to strengthen and improve its future efforts so as not to damage the trust of users
