Thank you for your continued patronage of the University of Tokyo Co-op.
We sincerely apologize for the concern caused to our members who use our cafeterias daily regarding the article in the Yomiuri Shimbun evening edition on August 25th. The University
of Tokyo Co-op has received the attached report ( see "Report on the Newspaper Report" ) from the University of Tokyo Co-op Business Federation (hereinafter referred to as the Business Federation), to which the University of Tokyo Co-op outsources its food procurement from manufacturers. We would like to immediately inform all members of this matter.
Even if there is no food safety issue in the Business Federation, which is obligated to display expiration dates, confirming and recording safety and resetting them, the University of Tokyo Co-op takes seriously the fact that the information disclosure standards for its members, who are consumers, were not sufficiently clear, and we strongly urge the Business Federation to strengthen and improve its future efforts to avoid damaging the trust of its users.
