2026 Representative Election Announcement

Notice to those running for representative at the 2026 University Co-op General Assembly

1. What is a "Representative" of the Co-op? The
Co-op's General Assembly (similar to a shareholders' meeting in a company) is held once a year to review financial statements, approve the budget, and elect officers.
Those who participate in the General Assembly are the "Representatives," who are representatives of the members. The Co-op is comprised of representatives elected from each constituency, including undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty and staff. The University of Tokyo Co-op is funded by the contributions of its members and aims to contribute to their welfare, so we believe it is important to hear your frank opinions.
The term of office for a Representative is one year. After the General Assembly, we will also set up opportunities to report on the Co-op and receive your opinions. We will send you an invitation from the Co-op, so please join us there as well.

2. Requests to all representatives
1) Attend the Co-op General Meeting on Saturday, May 30th (attendance by written submission is also possible). Online pre-meeting briefings will also be held (May 18th and May 20th).
2) Attend opinion-gathering sessions throughout the year.
* We will send you an invitation, so please participate to the extent possible.
Komaba Campus: Representatives and Co-op Committee Meetings Scheduled to be held 2 times in the first semester and 2 times in the second semester, for a total of 4 times
Hongo Campus: Representatives Meetings Scheduled to be held 2 times a year
Komaba II, Institute of Medical Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Asano, and Kashiwa Campuses: Management Committee Meetings held monthly
3) Read the "University of Tokyo Co-op Newsletter" which will be sent after each Co-op Board of Directors meeting.

3. How to run for representative (Please check the election announcement for representatives for details)
Application period: Tuesday, March 10, 2026 to Monday, April 20, 2026, until 5:00 PM Application

*If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available positions, an election will be held.

4. Regarding proposals for delegates:
Those who wish to run for delegate and propose agenda items to the delegate meeting based on Article 13 of the Delegates' Meeting Operating Regulations should review the regulations and submit their proposals in writing to the Co-op Chairman by Sunday, April 19th. Please note that if you are not elected as a delegate, your submission will be invalid.
