Lecture by Hiromi Tanaka

Lecture theme: "Towards a peaceful future without nuclear weapons - A message to the next generation"

　Hiromi Tanaka, a representative committee member of the Japan Confederation of A-bomb Sufferers Organizations and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, worked at the University of Tokyo Co-op after graduating from high school and before entering university. After entering university, he worked hard to establish the Tokyo University of Science Co-op and contributed as its first executive director, making him a great predecessor to the university co-op
　As the representative committee member of the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations, which was awarded the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize, he made a powerful appeal to the world from Oslo, the capital of Norway, last December to realize a society without nuclear weapons

Mr. Tanaka has a deep connection with the University of Tokyo Co-op, and he kindly agreed to give this lecture in order to convey his message to the next generation who will be responsible for the future. We are calling on not only officers and staff of the University of Tokyo Co-op, but also all members to participate, so please do join us
