Tanaka Hiromi lecture
Lecture theme: "Toward a peaceful future without nuclear weapons - a message to the next generation"
Tanaka Hiromi, the representative committee member of the Japan Hidankyo, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, has a background working at the University of Tokyo Co-op, from graduating from high school until he went to university. After entering university, he worked hard to establish the Tokyo University of Science Co-op and was a senior at the university co-op who contributed to the first executive director.
As the representative of the Japan Federation of Japan Associations, which won the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize, in December last year, Oslo, Norway's capital, strongly called on the world to realize a society without nuclear weapons.
Tanaka has a close connection with the University of Tokyo Co-op, but with the desire to convey his message to the next generation who will be responsible for the future, he has agreed to this lecture and decided to hold it. We are calling on not only officers and staff of the University of Tokyo Co-op, but also our union members to participate, so please come and participate.
