A request to raise funds for disaster relief from the mountain fire of Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture
On February 26th, 2025, a large-scale bushfire broke out in Ofunato City, Iwate Prefecture, burning a wide area of Ofunato City.
We would like to express our sincere sympathy to all those affected.
Currently, the University of Tokyo Co-op is working on a fundraising campaign to support those affected by the disaster. The donations received will be handed over to Ofunato City as "donations" through the Iwate Prefectural Consumer Cooperative Association. Furthermore, depending on the spread of the disaster, some of the damage may be used by Ofunato City as "support funds." Please leave this decision to the Iwate Prefectural Co-op Federation.
