whole Regarding the suspension of member prices at the co-op cafeteria

Thank you to all our members for your continued understanding and cooperation in the work of the University of Tokyo Co-op.

Partly due to the recent labor shortage in society as a whole, the cafeteria department of the University of Tokyo Co-op continues to suffer from severe vacancies in part-time staff. In particular, securing staff for the central cafeteria and the first and second floors of the Komaba cafeteria on the Hongo campus is becoming particularly difficult. As a result, we are forced to limit our business hours to times when we can secure a stable workforce.

As a result of repeated discussions at the Board of Directors,The purpose is to secure financial resources to improve hourly wages in order to recruit and retain part-time staff. In addition, the general prices (for non-union members) at the cafeteria will be revised starting July 16th (Tuesday). General prices are expected to increase by around 12-15%, depending on the product.

In addition, we would like to make an important announcement in light of the fact that the lives of our members are becoming increasingly difficult due to rising prices, etc.Regarding member prices, the discount rate from the general price will be expanded and will remain unchanged after July 16th.It was become a thing. Please rest assured and please continue to use our service.

Students, faculty, staff, and employees at the University of Tokyo can use the cafeteria at member prices by joining the co-op. If you are not yet a member of the Co-op, please check the details below and consider joining.
