The "Mutual Aid Scholarship Program" is a scholarship program run by the National Federation of University Co-operative Association Scholarship Foundation, a general incorporated foundation, that supports students who have lost a dependent and are finding it difficult to continue their studies by providing emergency support of 100,000 yen (as of December 2011) that does not require repayment, so that they can continue their studies
In fiscal year 2023 (October 2022 to September 2023), 77 individuals associated with the University of Tokyo donated 1,232,027 yen to enhance the program, and we received letters of appreciation
In 2023, the University Co-op Scholarship Foundation awarded 34.52 million yen in mutual aid scholarships to 347 students nationwide who had lost their supporters, helping them continue their studies. Of these, six students at the University of Tokyo received the grants
