The University of Tokyo Co-op would like to support your studies and daily life in Japan!
On our campus, we have stores, cafeterias and bookstores that provide many goods and services for you.

Our membership

Most of the students and many teaching staff and employee join our Co-op. The entry price is based on the members’ investment, so we hope you will join our Co-op. In order to become a member, you need to pay a membership fee (we request you to invest 60 shares, 24,000 yen), which will be paid back to you, when you graduate from the university.

Member benefits

Co-op member are entitled to the following benefits.

• 10 percent discount at Co-op bookstores.
• 10 percent discount at Co-op cafeteria and dining hall.

How to join the Co-op

Please come to our offices with

• Cash deposit (for Co-op shares)
• Identification card (to certify that you study or work at UTokyo).

We request that you pay 60 shares: 24,000 yen.
# Deposits are the foundation for running our Co-op.
# Deposited shares will be returned when you leave Co-op.

How to leave the Co-op

When you graduate, transfer, or retire from Utokyo（The University of Tokyo）, your deposit will be returned.
The time for return procedures is:

Graduates: March and September
Other cases: when you leave the university

In order to leave the Co-op,
please come to our offices with your membership card.
